Seattle Pro Musica has traveled throughout the Pacific Northwest to perform for communities with limited opportunities to enjoy the choral arts. During the 2007-08 concert season, outreach concerts include:Olympia, WashingtonSunday, November 18, 2007 Seattle Pro Musica kicked off the annual series presented by St. John’s Episcopal Church. This performance included works featured on our upcoming CD release American Masterpieces, funded through the National Endowment for the Arts as part of American Masterpieces: Three Centuries of Artistic Genius. The event also highlighted Seattle Pro Musica’s Northern Lights II concert, which showcased Baltic and Russian music evoking the northern lights of the winter season. The program featured choral music from Russia and Estonia—from traditional holiday carols to contemporary works by Arvo Pärt and Veljo Tormis. The great Romantic tradition of choral music from the late 19th and early 20th centuries was represented by Tchaikovsky, Pavel Chesnokov, and Cyrillus Kreek.
